Late Shri S.D Puri Founder

Late Shri Sukhdev Puri was a graduate from Agra University and had worked in the labour field for more than 62 years. He completed diploma in labour welfare in the year 1952-53 and law degree from Bombay University and had worked as a Labour Officer, Personnel Officer and Personnel Manager and legal officer for about 10 years and thereafter started practising labour law and practiced labour laws for about 40 years before Labour Court, Industrial Court, High Court and Supreme Court. He was the founder of M/s. S. D. Puri group of companies, which is now about 54 years old.

During his practice he also conducted many seminars and workshops on Labour Laws and also presented papers on Labour Laws and he was the office bearer of many Employer’s Organisations in India. He had also made 6 Video Cassettes on Labour Laws as back as in the year 1980 which were 1) How to write charge sheet – 120 minutes 2) How to conduct Domestic Enquiry – 180 minutes 3) Strike & Lockout ¬– 120 minutes 4) Employing Contract Labour – 70 minutes 5) Audio Visual Guide for Employers – 70 minutes 6) Negotiation Skills and Collective Bargaining – 70 minutes and he is the first Advocate to use computer in the year 1984 itself. He was visiting faculty in Jitendra Law College, Vile Parle West, attached to Mumbai University, and also a visiting faculty for Post Graduate Diploma Course for Medical Administration in Hospitals. He was examiner of the University of Mumbai for thesis of LLM students. He was also Trustee of Consumer Guidance Society of India and member of International Council of Jurists.

He was also a member of Supreme Court Bar Association.

He was the author of 12 reference books on Labour Laws for Bar and Bench, Employers, Legal Advisers, Corporate Legal Departments, Government Bodies etc. and 28 Bare Acts (State and Central) as amended upto date every year on Labour Laws which include Special features i.e. Synopsis, Charts, Tables and ratios of High Courts and Supreme Court judgements.

Sundeep Puri Managing Partner

Advocate Sundeep Puri is the Managing Partner of M/s. S. D. Puri group of companies, (viz S.D. Puri & Company, S.D. He has been actively associated with many Employer organizations and has conducted several seminars and workshops. He has also written and read papers on labour laws in the Employer’s seminars. He has also written legal bulletin on behalf of Bombay Management Association.

He is the Chairman of Indian Merchants Chamber’s Human Resources/Labour Law and People’s Management Committee since the last 10+ years and has been a Director in IMC since 1 year.

Has been associated with HR Forum of Bombay Management Association, in Organising various HR Seminars including many in the last 1 year with respect to the 4 new Labour Codes.

He is a member of the federation of the Labour Law Practitioner’s Association, Maharashtra.

Ravindra V. Paranjpe Senior Partner

Advocate Ravindra Vasant Paranjpe, graduated in law from the University of Bombay in 1983. He is the Senior Partner of M/s. S.D. Vedika Puri Partner

Advocate Vedika Puri Thadeshwar Graduated from Government Law College Mumbai with a Bachelor’s in Legal Studies and LLB.

She is a partner in M/s. S.D. Puri group of companies and is the third-generation lawyer in the family. Her core area of practice is Employment and Labour Laws. She appears before the Labour & Industrial Courts, High Court and the Supreme Court for various corporates with respect to employments and labour law issues.

She assists companies in devising early retirement programs, employment contracts, development of employee manuals, wage hours compliance, workers compensation as well as general employee relation matters, including Advice on collective bargaining negotiations. She has also conducted Audits of Clients Employment Practices vis-à-vis legality under labour laws and due diligence Audit in relation to Employment laws. She also specialises in Consulting and strategising with regard to Industrial activities/problems faced by Multinational and Indian MNC’s.

Vanshaj Puri Partner

Advocate Vanshaj Puri is a new generation lawyer who Graduated in Law from Mumbai in 2018 and after working with of M/s. S.D. Puri group of companies, he completed his LLM from Queen Mary University of London in 2020.

He is a partner of M/s. S.D. Puri group of companies. He appears before the Labour & Industrial Courts, High Court and the Supreme Court, for various companies/corporates with respect to Employments and Labour law issues. He has also spoken in many seminars on employment and labour laws including on the 4 new Labour Codes.

He also assists Corporates/Factories in Applicability of various Labour Laws to its Head Office, Branches and Units. He assists in Legal & Proper Drafting of Appointment Letters containing clauses such as “Confidentiality”, “Non-Compete”, etc., or even Appointing “Contractual Employees” or “Employees on outsourced basis”, as well as effecting Terminations of Contracts or various categories of Employees, and so also addressing issues relating to Sexual Harassment under the POSH Act.
