Shifting of Factory

We achieved Shifting of a Factory Employing 1200 workmen from one location to another which was achieved by getting written consent of all workmen to shift to a New Location, while the Old Factory was fully operational. And after obtaining the consent of the Employees, the New factory was Built in 2-3 years time, in spite of several litigations.

Cost reduction of Wages by 40% with Increase in Production.

Achieved in Implementing in a Company employing about 350 workers, wage cut of 40% along with Increase in Productivity till such time the Company remains sick.

We achieved closure of many units of various companies, in the last 40 years, including closure of a large Textile Unit in Mumbai Employing about 2000 Employees.

The Law provides punishment of either 4 days suspension or Removal. But we suggested and implemented an innovative mode of punishment wherein the erring employees opted for staying away from employment for 2 years by way of punishment without any wages / compensation and was later taken back into service.

Settling of Charter of Demands.

  1. Assisted several of our Clients all throughout, in arriving at an amicable settlement of Charter of Demands of the Employees at a reasonable basis by guiding the Senior Officers by holding Meeting in our Office.

  2. We have achieved ensuring increase in Productivity from day 1 of the new settlement of COD post which negotiations were held and finalised from retrospective effect regarding increase in salary.

Stike/Lockout.

We have resolved several strikes and lockouts in the last about 45 years whereby with the help of our strategy the management was immensely benefited in not only taking action against the instigators but also were benefited due to early resolution of the issues.

Collective Bargaining/Handling Negotiations

We have assisted in handling negotiations with employees and in collective bargaining matters. Still in India, the negotiations between Employer & Employees along with representative of their unions are conducted in co-evasive environment. To prevent or eradicate coercion, special counselling sessions are conducted by our firm for the benefit of the employer by holding meetings in our office which have proved to be very useful.

  1. We have handled as “Part of the Management Team” a project wherein we were working to practically bring back to life a dead company employing about 4000 workmen in one single location and having losses of more than Rs. 400 Crores.

Handling Litigations.

The Firm’s attorneys have handled variety of cases by representing the Employers before Authorities constituted under various Labour Laws i.e. Local Government Regulatory Body and representing Employers before Labour Court, Industrial Court and High Court at Mumbai, in respect of any matter under Labour Laws such as Unfair Labour Practices, Employees’ Compensation Act, State Wage and Hour Issues, Equal Remuneration Act, Disciplinary Laws, Medical Insurance, Breach of Employment Contracts, Unions Collective Bargaining Agreements, Sexual Harassment cases as well as prosecute cases for Strike along with Injunctions to Stop unlawful activities such as Picketing etc. We also defend alleged violation of Agreements, Employment Contracts, Wrongful and unlawful discharge, Lay Offs, Reorganization, Outsourcing, etc. We have also helped in client’s preparation of cases all India by coordinating with local lawyers in India.
